Using the Wiremap Adapter and Remote ID Locators - MicroScanner2

Terminating twisted pair cabling with the standard wiremap adapter or optional remote ID locators lets the tester detect all types of wiremap faults. Without this termination, the tester cannot detect crossed wires or crossed pairs.

For a wire pair with one wire open, termination is required to detect which wire is open.

Without termination, the tester shows both wires as open. Using multiple Remote ID locators helps you identify connections at patch panels.

The tester shows the number of the locator connected to the far end of the cabling.

To connect a Remote ID locator to a modular (RJ) jack in a confined area or to a 4-pin modular jack (RJ11), use the optional universal adapter and a patch cord.
